THE PIZER

Full view. Open door. Come on in.

Starting at

$1299

Down East, they don’t call it a porch, they call it a pizer, a word the Brogue carried over from the Italian piazza and kept alive on the islands long after the mainland let it go. It means the same thing it always has: the place you sit, wave at whoever’s passing, and tell them to come on up. The Pizer is a full-view storm door built for that kind of hospitality. Nothing between you and the yard but glass, no divided panes or obstructed sightlines, so the light comes in, the view stays open, and you can see who’s walking up before they reach the steps.

Underneath that open view is a door built to last. The Pizer is a ProVia Deluxe full-view storm door with aluminum walls up to 20% thicker than the industry standard for added stability and durability and an optional reinforced, dent-resistant kickpanel to take the bumps of everyday coming and going. When the weather turns fine, swap the glass for the optional full screen, braced by a horizontal stabilizer bar, and let the breeze do what a pizer was made for.

THE PLOTT

Built for the whole family. Yes, the dog too.

WITHOUT DOG DOOR, STARTING AT

$1999

WITH DOG DOOR, STARTING AT

$2499

The story starts in 1750, when a young German immigrant named Johannes Plott arrived in the colonies with five hunting hounds bred by his father, a gamekeeper back home. His son Henry carried the line into the mountains of western North Carolina, and that’s where the Plott became its own breed. It earned a reputation as a fearless bear dog, tough enough to track big game for days and loyal to its people the whole way. The Plott Balsams in the Smokies carry the family’s name, and in 1989 the General Assembly made the Plott Hound North Carolina’s state dog.

The Plott is a door built with that same kind of family in mind. It’s a half glass door from Masonite, built on a smooth fiberglass slab that won’t dent, rot, or warp. The glass up top brings in natural light and a view of who’s coming up the walk, while the solid lower half adds privacy and strength. Add miniblinds between the glass to control light and privacy without dusting or tangled cords. And, unique in the Carolina Collection, the Plott can come with a dog door built right into it at the factory. That means a clean, sealed fit instead of a hole cut after the fact, so the most loyal member of the household can come and go without waiting on anyone to get up.

THE WILSONIAN

From farm to front door.

Starting at

$1999

Long before downtown Wilson had a single brick warehouse, packhouses stood behind farmhouses all across Wilson County. They were long, tin-roofed frame buildings where the real work happened: tobacco came in from the field to be graded by hand, sorted by color and quality, and tied into bundles called “hands.” Weatherboard walls aged to silver-gray, tin roofs rusted to a warm patina, and the wood held the smell of cured tobacco for generations.

Most of those packhouses are gone now, lost to time with no headline. But they set the tone for how this part of the state builds: practical, unpolished, and made to weather.

The Wilsonian carries that character to the front of a home. It’s a two-panel fiberglass door, planked top to bottom and grooved like packhouse weatherboard, for full privacy and a true farmhouse look. It won’t dent, rot, or warp, so you get the rustic look without the upkeep. Paint or stain it to suit your home, or choose a top-quality prefinished ProVia version in colors like Urban Barnwood, our favorite, for the sun-weathered silver of a Wilson County packhouse.

THE RALEIGH

Big-city height. Small-town charm.

Starting at

$2399

For most of Eastern North Carolina, Raleigh is simply “the big city,” the place you go for a ballgame, the State Fair, or a day downtown, gazing up at the tallest buildings for a hundred miles. It’s been the capital since 1792, and it’s been growing up ever since, with towers now rising above the same oak-lined streets that earned it the name City of Oaks.

The Raleigh brings that sense of height to the front of a home. It’s a two-panel fiberglass door with glass across the top three-quarters, letting light pour into the entry, and a planked panel below for a grounded, handcrafted finish. It’s at its best in a taller opening, at 84" or a full 96", where the extra height gives it real presence. It won’t dent, rot, or warp, so it stands tall for years without the upkeep. Paint or stain it to suit your home, or choose a top-quality prefinished ProVia version.

THE HIGH POINT

Crafted at the top.

Starting at

$2455

High Point got its name honestly. When the North Carolina Railroad was laid across the Piedmont in the 1850s, the spot where the town grew up was the highest point on the line between Goldsboro and Charlotte, and the name stuck. The railroad brought timber, and the timber brought furniture makers. By the early 1900s, High Point had become one of the furniture-making centers of America, and today it’s known as the Home Furnishings Capital of the World, hosting the High Point Market, where the industry comes to see what’s next. For more than a century, the town has made its reputation on one thing: building pieces with clean lines and honest craftsmanship that people keep for generations.

The High Point brings that same Craftsman spirit to the front of a home. It’s built from Masonite’s Winslow, a three-panel Craftsman design with tall, architecturally correct panels below a row of flush-glazed, factory-sealed glass. The glass sits level with the door’s surface instead of in a raised insert, for a cleaner look and more light. Make it your own with optional simulated divided lites, grids between the glass, or a classic Craftsman shelf below the glass. The smooth fiberglass slab won’t dent, rot, or warp, and it arrives primed white and ready for whatever paint color suits your home. As for the name, High Point earned it by sitting at the top of the line. This door earns it the same way: the glass sits right where you’d expect it - the highest point.

THE BEAUFORT

Beautiful. Strong. Correctly pronounced.

Single, starting at

$2299

Patio / French, starting at

$3449

There’s a fitting kind of stubbornness behind this door’s name. Beaufort, North Carolina, settled in part by French Huguenots, carries a name built from the French “beau” and “fort,” or “beautiful, strong fortress.” Nearly three hundred miles down the coast, Beaufort, South Carolina carries the same name and swears it’s pronounced “BYOO-fert.” North Carolina knows better: it’s “BO-fert,” and it’s closer to how the name was actually said back in France. We’ll let that stand on its own.

The French name is no accident. This door was inspired by the French doors our customers love, which are almost always full glass, and it brings that same look to every opening we hang it in, whether as a pair or on its own. The Beaufort lives up to both halves of its name: a full-view design that opens your home to as much light and sightline as a door can hold, built on a smooth fiberglass slab that won’t dent, rot, or warp the way wood does at the coast or anywhere else in North Carolina weather.

Many of our customers choose to add miniblinds sealed between the glass. They can tilt them closed for privacy or open them wide for sunlight, without giving up the clean full-view look and without ever dusting a slat.

THE SLIDING ROCK

Smooth as the slide. Clear as the water.

Starting at

$3479

High in Pisgah National Forest near Brevard, Looking Glass Creek pours down about 60 feet of smooth, sloping granite into a cold mountain pool. That’s Sliding Rock, nature’s own waterslide, and for generations of North Carolina families it’s been a summer rite of passage. One push, one long slide, and one shriek when you hit that icy water. Some places are just made to glide.

The Sliding Rock brings that same easy motion home. It’s a sliding glass patio door with wide panels of glass that fill the room with light and open up the view to your deck, porch, or backyard. The panel rolls smoothly on its track with a light touch, then seals up tight against weather and drafts when it’s closed. Built with energy-efficient glass and low-maintenance frames, it gives you a clear look at the outdoors without the upkeep. Choose from a range of frame colors, hardware finishes, and grid options to suit your home.
