About Kenco Home Improvements
Kenco Home Improvements has always been about family. Founded in 1987 by Kenny Stokes, our business grew from a small vinyl siding operation into a trusted name in home improvement. Today, Kenny's three sons (Brandon, Trevor, and Connor) work alongside him, carrying forward the same values of integrity and service that have been part of our family for generations.
Who We Are
"Kenco Home Improvements isn’t just a business... it’s the continuation of a family legacy in Wilson and the surrounding communities.
Long before we ever installed our first piece of siding, our family was already a trusted name in town.
My grandmother, Marie Stokes, was known as the community’s seamstress - someone families relied on to hem dress pants, hang beautiful valances, make wedding dresses, and so much more.
My grandfather, Clarence Stokes, carried that same spirit of service through partnerships with other family-owned dry-cleaning businesses, where he not only knew nearly everyone in Wilson by name but also personally delivered clothes to their homes. And even before him, Clarence's father, Frank Stokes, was a farmer... serving the citizens of Wilson, Nash, and Edgecombe counties, putting food on tables from North Carolina to who-knows-where? That spirit of honesty, hard work, and personal service shaped the values my dad, Kenny Stokes, carried forward when he founded Kenco in 1987.
What started as a small vinyl siding and window operation soon became a trusted home improvement name across eastern North Carolina. Today, we sons (and even a knuckleheaded grandson) work alongside him, continuing the family tradition of helping neighbors improve and protect their homes with integrity and craftsmanship.
At Kenco, being family-owned isn’t just a phrase... it’s the way we do business. We believe in treating every home like our own, building trust one project at a time."

Our Guiding Principles
Local Family
Our family has been part of this community for generations — from sewing and dry cleaning to siding and windows. We've always been here, serving families like yours, and we're building something our kids and grandkids can be proud of too.
Priced Fair, Crafted With Care
We never oversell or cut corners. We believe the right improvement is the only improvement worth doing, and we believe in doing right by our neighbors even when it costs us more than doing it the easy way.
Measure Twice, Cut Once
Every nail, every window, every door adjustment matters. We use quality materials and proven techniques because we care more about doing it right than doing it fast. We'd rather take the extra step than leave a homeowner with something that doesn't last.
Own It, Fix It, Learn From It, Have Fun
Nobody's perfect, and we don't pretend to be. When something goes wrong, we own it, fix it, learn from it, and find a reason to laugh about it. We take immense pride in our craft but don't take ourselves too seriously.
